Accessibility Statement
Last updated October 4, 2026. This page explains what We Dig Skulls aims for in accessibility, what we have built into the site so far, where the limits are, and how to tell us when something gets in your way. If you use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or another assistive tool and hit a barrier, the quickest route is the contact form. Choose "Something else" and tell us which page and what happened.
Our commitment
We want everyone who loves skulls and skeletons to be able to read the stories and browse the shop. To that end, we work toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the technical standard published by the W3C for making web content usable by people with disabilities. Working toward a standard is not the same as meeting it. We do not claim that the site is fully compliant, conformant or certified, and some pages or features may still fall short.
For general background in the United States, the Department of Justice's web accessibility guidance says the Americans with Disabilities Act applies to businesses open to the public, including what they offer on the web. That guidance is not a binding rule, and it does not name WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a requirement. Questions about what the law requires of a particular business are best put to a lawyer.
What we have done
These are the accessibility features built into the site today.
- Images have text alternatives, so a screen reader can describe them.
- Scene images are labelled as illustrations, so no one mistakes them for archival photographs.
- The site works with a keyboard, and the item you are on shows a visible focus outline.
- A skip link at the top of each page lets you jump past the menu to the main content.
- Color contrast was checked in both the light and dark themes.
- A theme toggle offers light, dark and system settings, so you can pick the one that is easiest on your eyes or follow your device.
- Reading text is at least 20 pixels, including on phones.
- The slideshow on the home page can be paused. It starts paused for visitors whose device is set to reduce motion.
- The contact form has labelled fields.
- The site is in English and Spanish, and a link in the header opens the same page in the other language.
Known limitations
Some parts of the experience are not built or controlled by us. Checkout runs on Fourthwall, a third-party platform. According to Fourthwall's terms of service, Fourthwall is the seller of products bought through a creator's store. We do not make claims about how accessible Fourthwall's checkout is. If you want current checkout accessibility information, the Fourthwall Help Center is the place to ask, and you can also tell us about the problem so we can point you the right way. You can read more about how buying works on the shop page and in our terms.
Pages may also include embedded content from other services. We cannot always change how that content behaves, so it may not meet the same standard as the rest of the site.
How do I report a barrier?
Use the contact form and choose "Something else". A short report is enough. It helps to tell us:
- the page you were on, or the checkout step if it happened while ordering or paying
- what happened, and what you expected instead
- the device, browser and assistive technology you were using, if you are comfortable sharing it
Please do not put payment card numbers or other sensitive details in the form. If you need information in a different way, say so and describe what would work for you. We will offer the information another way. How we handle the details you send is covered in our privacy policy.
If the problem is with a checkout or payment step, tell us which step. Fourthwall handles those parts, and knowing the step helps us direct you to the right place.
